About
I am a personal and professional life coach, nutritional therapist and counsellor who specialises in helping people with CFS/ME to regain their health and happiness.
I was a staff nurse and a mother with young children when I was first struck down with CFS/ME in 1985. I was ill for many years and at my worst was unable to walk more than a few yards and needed a wheelchair for family outings. I studied nutrition, mind/body medicine, health and wellness, psychology, spirituality and personal development whilst looking for the answer to my own illness. I did eventually find my answer (in nutrition) and I am now well and enjoy working again, family life with my husband and two children, and activities such as cycling, canoeing and sailing.
I decided to put my research to good use and trained in life coaching, counselling and nutrition so that I could help people with CFS/ME overcome their physical and emotional difficulties and return to good health.
I compiled the book “Recovery from CFS – 50 Personal Stories” to give hope of recovery to people who are still ill with CFS/ME. This book contains the stories of 50 men, women and children from six different countries who have recovered from CFS/ME and returned to a normal life. “Recovery from CFS – 50 Personal Stories” is available from this website and also from Amazon.
I see my clients either face to face or I conduct sessions over the telephone for people who live further afield. Both methods are equally successful.
I also use Skype for people abroad.
If you would like to talk to me about how I work or about the book “Recovery from CFS – 50 Personal Stories”, I would love to hear from you. Email me at alex[at]alexbarton.co.uk.
